I am Suhaila Latif Ameer, a dual registered Clinical Psychologist with the HPCSA (South Africa) and NZPB (New Zealand). I completed my Masters in Clinical Psychology in 2006, Suma Cum Laude (UKZN). My research explored the disclosure process of child rape victims. My PhD explores grooming, which is the preparatory period to sexually abusing a child/adult.
I have experience in both the public and private sectors; and in inpatient, outpatient, assessment and community centres. I draw from a variety of evidence-based interventions (EMI, DBT, CBT, psychodynamic, narrative, family and trauma focused therapy).
In my practice, I work with children, adolescents, adults, parents and families in a variety of contexts, facilitating growth, change and transformation. I work closely with your GP, other healthcare professionals, child’s school, and support network, should you consent, to maximise treatment outcomes.
Come see me so that together we can optimise your skills and ability to Thrive with Therapy! Thank you for choosing me to walk this journey with you…
